Ram Contracting NZ isn't a general builder that sometimes works with timber. Timber is our specialisation — it's the material we've built our reputation on and the one we understand at an engineering level.
We work predominantly with Auckland Council and government clients, delivering timber infrastructure for parks, reserves, cemeteries, and public spaces across the region. Our GETS registration and ConstructSafe certification reflect a business that operates to the standards government procurement requires.
Based out of our Henderson premises, we run a dedicated team of experienced timber construction professionals. We handle projects from initial site assessment through to completed handover — one crew, one standard, one point of accountability.
Carl leads the Ram Contracting team, bringing a depth of construction industry experience to every project. A Massey University graduate, Carl has built the company's reputation through consistent delivery on council and commercial contracts across Auckland. His approach is straightforward: understand the project, mobilise the right team, deliver on time, and make sure it's built to last.
We don't dabble in timber — we specialise in it. Species selection, treatment grades, connection systems, environmental performance. When timber is all you do, you know it inside out.
Good work comes from good people. We invest in our crew — training, safety, and the small things that make people want to come to work and do their best. The projects show it.

Our Henderson base gives us the space and facilities to stage materials, maintain equipment, and prepare for projects efficiently. When we mobilise to a site, we arrive ready — not discovering what we need once we're there.
From our vehicle fleet to heavy plant access, we have the capability to handle infrastructure-scale timber projects. Pile driving, heavy beam placement, site access in challenging terrain — we bring the equipment the project needs.
